Laminate Worktops

Laminate Worktops – MFC or MFMDF

Laminate worktops such as MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard) and MFMDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) combine durability and aesthetic appeal to meet diverse design and practical needs.

MFC worktop is an engineered wood product made from wood particles or fibres that are bonded together with a resin under high pressure and heat. The result is a stable board that is then faced on both sides with decorative melamine resin-infused paper. This paper coating provides a smooth, durable surface that is resistant to moisture stains and scratches.

MFMDF worktops, on the other hand, are crafted from a dense fiberboard core covered with a decorative resin-impregnated paper, providing a smooth, high-quality surface available in numerous designs and colours. Both options are ideal for creating stylish, functional workspaces that withstand daily wear and tear.

Key features include:

  • Cost – Laminate is one of the best work surfaces you can buy in terms of value for money, so there is something to suit every budget.
  • Durable & hygienic – Laminate is extremely durable and highly resistant to scratches, cracks, and stains. Its hygienic nature comes from the plastic coating that completely seals the MDF core, leaving no place for bacteria to hide.
  • Water Resistant –  Laminate is non-porous, making your work surfaces fully waterproof. Any spills or splashes can be easily wiped off without being absorbed into the worktop.
  • Easier to maintain, repair or replace –  In addition to being affordable, laminate surfaces can withstand most cleaning products without damage. They are also cheaper to replace, whether you need to replace one piece or the entire worktop.

Laminate is a versatile, man-made material available in a wide range of colours and finishes. It can mimic the appearance of solid wood, granite, and marble, offering the look of natural materials without the high cost or maintenance.

Affordable alternative to solid wood

These worktops provide an affordable alternative to solid wood and other engineered wood products. With a durable surface that resists scratches, stains, and moisture, laminates come in a vast array of colours, textures, and finishes. They are lightweight and easy to work with, making them ideal for a variety of furniture and interior design applications.
