Lab of the Future winner announced!

View our judges in action as they select the winner of the Lab of the Future.

We’ve received an amazing array of entries featuring everything from a science theme park with an element vending machine to a high tech reclining chair for teachers to relax on between classes.

The judges had a tough time choosing a favourite, but it was the creativity, functionality and futuristic nature of one design which won the panel over.

Melanie Laing, Director of Innova Design Group said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the high standard of the designs and the level of creativity we’ve seen from the students who’ve entered the competition. The extent to which pupils took into account considerations like materials, the needs of the end users and health and safety was particularly impressive. Some of the entries could be made up in our factory today, but it was the level of detail, research and analysis that really made King Edward’s entry stand out.”

We’d like to congratulate our winner, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, as well as all our entrants for their hard work. Watch out for our next competition launching later in the year!
