Innova unveils high-tech reception at Stockport’s Fred Perry House
Innova Design Group has completed a brief to deliver a brand new, interactive, high-tech reception as part of a project to modernise Stockport Council’s Fred Perry House in the heart of the borough.
In a ceremony led by the Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Andrew Verdeille, the building was officially re-opened to the public.
In a job spanning everything from concept and design to installation, Innova worked closely with Stockport Council and Carillion's architects to create a contemporary, technologically advanced reception for Fred Perry House.
Peter Smith, director at Innova said: “With the reception at Fred Perry House acting as both the public face and heart of the building, we wanted to create a space that improved the customer experience and retained a feeling of friendliness while freeing up staff to complete vital tasks.
“The result is a high tech, interactive and architecturally pleasing space that enables the Council to deliver its digital ambitions in an inclusive way, providing assistance where necessary.
“We are thrilled to have completed the job and look forward to seeing the reception area in use.”
Laureen Donnan, Deputy Chief Executive at Stockport Council said: “The redesign has been implemented with customers in mind to make it quicker and easier for them to access information about Council services.”
“In addition we have trained our staff to assist residents in accessing our services online, using new tablets and touch screen computers. The whole reception area has now been transformed into a more welcoming space that supports and encourages people to go online.”
“As a Council we are committed to supporting local businesses so it has been wonderful to work closely with a local firm on the redesign.”
