Innova Launch £20k competition for Schools and a new website!

The competition invites students aged 11 to 16 to submit their ‘Lab of the Future’ designs to Innova, giving them free rein to include elements and features they believe would benefit their school and their education. There are no limits or constraints to the submissions, allowing students to be as innovative in their designs as they desire.

Our judging panel’s favourite design will win the students’ school £20,000 worth of laboratory furniture from Innova Design Group as well as £1,000 to share amongst the victorious team (or £250 if the entrant is an individual). The competition is open to all secondary schools including academies and independent secondary schools throughout England.

Entrants are advised to consider how students and teachers use the space in their science laboratories and how their current classrooms could be improved. Incorporating the demands of the relevant curriculums and teaching methods; the students are tasked with creating designs which best utilise the space and the demands of modern learning.

Students are given a blank canvas to create their perfect classroom for tomorrow’s young scientists, engineers and professors.

The entries can be submitted in any format including concept sketches, computer-generated visualisations of the final space or photographs. Entries are restricted to one per school, and a rationale – explaining the concepts is required alongside the submission.

All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form and must be submitted by no later than 5pm on Friday 27 February 2015.
