The brief
Impressed by the outstanding results of their language laboratory and auditorium installations, Urmston Grammar School once again invited Innova Design Group back to transform another learning space – this time, a cutting-edge science laboratory.
The client outlined a comprehensive turnkey solution, which included the design and installation of high-quality, bespoke furniture to optimise functionality and maximise space. Additionally new ceilings were specified to enhance natural daylight, creating a bright and welcoming environment ideal for focused study and hands-on experimentation.
The project also required M&E Services, the installation of and safe flooring system plus decoration to energise and transform the space.
Innova managed the project perfectly from design to installation, delivering an outstanding science labs that truly have the "WOW" factor—all while staying within the agreed budget and timeline.

The solution
The laboratory was thoughtfully designed with a ‘Hot Corner’ layout, offering a versatile workspace that seamlessly accommodates both practical experiments and theoretical learning sessions. The room was re-oriented along the long wall to create shorter lines of communication, making it easier for staff to manage and engage with students effectively.
A striking monochrome colour scheme was chosen, featuring durable solid surface worktops, along with sleek aluminium and chrome fittings, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The result is an inspiring environment that captivates staff, students, and parents alike, fostering a sense of pride and motivation.
