Electronics & Engineering laboratory design, manufacture & install
Following the design and installation of a cutting-edge laboratory, Vision West Nottinghamshire College appointed Innova to transform further rooms at the college including electronics, engineering and technology spaces.
"Innova has delivered an inspirational space which is set to inspire our future generation of learners. The college is delighted with the refurbished laboratory."
The Brief
The college, which is based in Mansfield and Ashfield and offers education and training to over 20,000 students and businesses, was looking to invest in learning facilities to reflect their ambitions and aspirations for the 21st century. Our brief was to create inspirational learning facilities where students can enjoy the very best teaching and learning experiences to compliment the college’s high quality education and training philosophy.
The Solution
With careful planning and clever design, Innova worked closely with the college to install state-of-the-art, spacious and practical laboratories for the engineers of tomorrow.
The science laboratories were developed using Innova’s Hot Corners design with integrated storage to create clutter-free work surfaces, ease of movement and great versatility for both practical and theory sessions.
From durable Trespa TopLab work surfaces to additional electric sockets for electronics lessons, the laboratories were designed, manufactured and installed to provide the college with a practical, long lasting and inspirational learning environment.

View on youtubeWhat difference does a new classroom make?
That’s what we’ve been asking staff and students as we return to visit some of the colleges we’ve previously worked with.
Take a look at the video to see how a brand new electronics lab has increased student engagement – and made teaching a whole lot easier at Vision West Nottinghamshire College in Mansfield, North Nottinghamshire.
The HASS room, designed to support Computer Aided Manufacturing courses, incorporates perimeter benching for practical work on machine tools as well as loose tables and chairs for theory lessons. Flexible tables are ideal for group working and can be easily reconfigured to suit a variety of teaching and learning needs
Contemporary monochromatic material and colours were used throughout to promote a stimulating environment which can be easily maintained as the college looks to invest in the future.
