New R&D Laboratory, flexible spacious working environment
OE Electrics Limited, is an innovative global, electrical, power and data solutions provider, for the education, office, leisure and healthcare sectors. As a fast paced growing organisation which is continually expanding, OE Electrics invested £6.2m to develop purpose built headquarters for their advanced manufacturing, R&D, assembly and distribution facilities.
The new build allows the company to cater for an increase in demand for its products and growth which will help towards the creation of 144 office, assembly and apprenticeship roles over the next eight years.
The Brief
As part of their new build development OE Electrics required a new R&D laboratory in just four weeks, in time for their grand opening. Innova Design Group came highly recommended from a previous project and following discussions were appointed to complete the laboratory installation in record time.
The install team were friendly, flexible and conducted themselves professionally at all times when on site.
Features such as the mobile tool cabinet mean we can change the layout of the room to gain more space for large test equipment when necessary, something you could not achieve with an off the shelf solution.
The Solution
With an initial plan Innova started consultation with the R&D team to develop a contemporary laboratory design, creating their perfect work environment that was; practical, versatile with plenty of bespoke storage to house all their specialist equipment.
The design was developed with a central island facilitating a removable worktop section and plenty of tailored storage around the perimeter, including large cupboards with sliding doors, bespoke deep drawer units and mobile storage to house their specialist equipment and keep work areas clutter free.
MFMDF carcasses ensured longevity and quality of the units whilst Resopal antistatic work tops provided the perfect surface for electrical experimentation to take place.
The aesthetics echoed the company’s new branding and building and presented a great working environment to sit alongside the contemporary office and new building interiors.
The new modern laboratory is now a flexible, spacious working environment for researchers to develop and test new products efficiently and with everything under one roof the company can increase export and expansion into new markets.
