As an exceptional 11-18 Academy, Altrincham College of Arts is dedicated to outstanding teaching that drives remarkable learning, positively influencing behavior, attendance, and well-being.
Their ongoing focus is to improve teaching quality across classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities to ensure continuous academic progress through creativity and innovation.
As part of the school’s ongoing committment to enhance its facilities, Innova was invited to design and quote for upgrading the food technology rooms.

The brief
Having collaborated closely with Innova on various innovative projects, including science laboratories, a modern foreign language laboratory, and sixth form specialist rooms, Altrincham College of Arts invited us to revamp their food technology classrooms.
This project aims to create a modern, functional space that fosters creativity and collaboration among students.
By incorporating the latest technology and innovative design, the upgraded rooms will enhance the educational experience and better prepare students for future culinary pursuits.
The school worked extremely closely with Innova's designers and all work has been carried out smoothly, efficiently, on time and on budget.

The solution
Innova delivered two state of the art food technology rooms complete with a bay design, optimising the space and room efficiency. This layout encourages students to work together collaboratively on cooking projects, whilst ensuring a safe and easy to navigate environment.
Each room includes teacher’s demonstration benches, equipped with mounted cameras for cookery demonstations, seamlessley integrating technology into the lesson plans.
Innova also installed secure, lockable storage solutions for books, equipment, utensils, and food. Additional bag storage was provided to neatly stow student attire, while cooling racks were cleverly incorporated into the teacher wall.
Velstone and Trespa surfaces were used throughout for ease of maintenance.
Recently Innova also completed the refurbishment of their language laboratory, providing perimeter ICT desking and flexible tables, an A-Level chemistry laboratory and science prep room.
