Step by Step: How Innova Design and build Inspirational Classrooms

Before we arrange an initial consultation, it’s a good idea to think through what your school would like to achieve. A great place to start is to take a look at the other projects we’ve worked on – you may also want to set up site visits to these schools. Planning ahead for next year and beyond  allows you to get the best rates and gives optimum time for design, planning and manufacture.

With that in mind, we thought it would be helpful to show you exactly how Innova Design Group build educational spaces:

1. Consultation

Consultation

The first step is to meet with the school to discuss their vision. Our project managers develop a plan that delivers practical and inspirational solutions tailored to the learning space.

Flexibility is important to many of our clients, and we can work directly with schools, in conjunction with chosen consultants and main contractors, or alternatively with an agency or architect.

It’s at this stage that you can decide whether to choose a furniture-only option or a full turnkey solution. The latter can include design, manufacture, minor building works, electrical installations, flooring, suspended ceilings, gas and plumbing services and decoration.

For bid applications, our experts can help to prepare initial designs for funding applications, such as 2D drawings, 3D visualisations and a fully-itemised quote.

2. Planning, Design and Manufacture

Design

When the client agrees on a brief, Innova’s design team begin to develop the plans. In accordance with up-to-date building regulations, relevant legislation and of course design trends, we develop educational spaces that are highly functional, cost-effective and inspiring.

Our design consultancy service uses the latest 3D CAD software to provide plans, sections, elevations and 3D visuals. This means that clients can visualise the finished interiors before having to make a commitment.

This precise and in-depth planning process means that our product manufacture can be carried out more rapidly. Our latest CAD/CAM software offers screen to machine manufacturing capability and allows orders to be processed efficiently.

3. Project Management

project management

Our clients receive the benefit of having an experienced, dedicated team working on the project, guiding them through every stage of designing, planning and development.

Experts in the field, our project managers keep you abreast of any legislation or regulation changes, ensuring the project runs smoothly. Clients are also kept informed about the finer details of the project including budgeting, scheduling, manufacturing, delivery and installation.

4. Turnkey Services

Our turnkey service provides the complete solution, from design to the final sparkle clean and includes consultation, design proposals, in-house manufacturing, utility management, flooring, ceiling, lighting, logistics, and delivery.

5. Delivery and Site Installation

Installation

When the production stages complete, our installation team gets to work.  We have our own highly-skilled installation teams, and with an established network of professionals across the UK. All our fitters are fully DBS checked, with valid CSCS safety certification and up to date health and safety training.

They can complete the entire installation, including minor building works, gas and electricity, plumbing, floor coverings, ceiling and light installations, and decoration.  If needed, we can also source the latest interactive technologies.

Our teams keep disruption to a minimum; they work to the highest standards of cleanliness and noise control.

Once the work has started, we organise regular site visits to make sure that everything is running smoothly. As always, we’re available to answer questions and resolve any issues which may come up during this stage. After the work has been completed, we conduct a thorough review and at this stage can address any final amendments or snagging that is required.

6. Customer Service

customer services

After the installation is complete and students have started to enjoy their new classroom, our team are still on hand to offer support. From answering simple queries to providing replacement products or spare parts, we have a dedicated customer service team who are on hand to help. The company actively seek out feedback from our clients after an installation to help us continually improve our service.

Innova also offer an Annual Maintenance Contract option (subject to terms and conditions); visiting the site once a year to check everything is still working effectively and efficiently. We carry out maintenance and repair promptly if there are any problems.

Ultimately, when our clients are happy, we are happy.
